1
🌏
Requirements differ by country

Certification schemes such as CE, FCC and CCC differ by country, so the same product may require different documents.

2
🏛️
Issuing bodies vary widely

Each document — from testing bodies and certification bodies to shipping lines — has a different issuing or holding party.

3
📑
Certification methods differ

You must distinguish countries where an apostille is enough from those that also require embassy certification.

4
Registration-schedule pressure

Translation, notarization and certification must be completed in order to meet local licensing or bidding deadlines.

SUMMARYElectronics & IT document certification — 30-second summaryClick to collapse/expand

To export electrical, electronics & IT productsYou must prepare the certificates required by the importing country (CFS, MSDS, test reports, etc.) and submit them after notarization and an apostille or embassy legalization. For Apostille Convention member countries, one confirmation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is enough; for non-member countries, embassy legalization in Korea is also required after the Ministry's confirmation.

FAQFAQ
Q Is test report certification really required when exporting electronics?
Many countries in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and elsewhere require certified documents for import and registration. Depending on the country, an apostille or even embassy certification may be needed, and we handle everything from translation to certification in one stop based on the documents you hold.
Q What is the difference between an apostille and embassy certification?
An apostille is a procedure completed with a single MOFA confirmation between Convention member countries. For non-member countries, after MOFA confirmation you must additionally obtain certification from that country's embassy in Korea.
Q How long does processing take?
Translation, notarization and apostille usually take 3–5 business days; including embassy certification, 5–15 business days depending on the country. Urgent processing is also available on request.
Q Can I pay with an export voucher?
Yes. The Korea Integrated Civil-Affairs Center is an export-voucher performing agency, so translation and certification costs can be settled with a voucher.
Q Can it proceed even if the original documents are overseas?
Yes. Local apostille and consular certification of documents issued abroad can also be handled remotely through our network in 180 countries.
