1. Purpose of Processing

Apostille Korea (apostillekorea.com), operated by Whomi Global Inc, processes personal data only for the following purposes and does not use it for any other purpose: confirming intent to register, identifying and authenticating customers for service provision, maintaining and managing membership, processing payment, and supplying/delivering the service.

For identity verification, the following are collected: name, gender, date of birth, mobile number, carrier, domestic/foreign-national status, the encrypted connecting information (CI) of the identity-verification service, and duplicate-registration confirmation information (DI).

7. Destruction of Personal Data

In principle, Apostille Korea destroys personal data without delay once the purpose of processing is achieved. Information entered by the user is, after the purpose is achieved, moved to a separate database (or paper file) and stored for a set period under internal policy and applicable law, or destroyed immediately; such data is not used for any other purpose except as required by law.

Where the retention period has elapsed, data is destroyed within 30 days of the end of that period; where the data becomes unnecessary (purpose achieved, service discontinued, business closed), it is destroyed within 30 days of the date it is deemed unnecessary.

8. Security Measures

Pursuant to Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act, Apostille Korea takes the following technical, managerial and physical measures: minimizing and training staff who handle personal data; regular internal audits (quarterly); establishing and implementing an internal management plan; encrypting personal data (passwords stored encrypted; important data and transmissions encrypted or file-locked); technical measures against hacking and viruses; restricting access to personal-data systems and using intrusion-prevention systems; and access control to physical storage locations.

9. Privacy Officer

Apostille Korea designates the following Privacy Officer, who oversees personal-data processing and handles complaints and remedies from data subjects:

10. Changes to this Policy

This Privacy Policy applies from its effective date. Where there are additions, deletions or corrections under law or policy, changes will be announced via notice from 7 days before they take effect.
